BYD first came to Irish shores in early 2023 and has appealed to the Irish market through strong design and technology features in the all-electric range consisting of the BYD Atto 3, BYD Seal and BYD Dolphin.

These features have now been taken to the next level through BYD’s luxury & performance brand, YANGWANG. Ireland was also exclusively selected to be the first EU market country to showcase the YANGWANG U8 and YANGWANG U9, with Nevo exclusive viewings at BYD South Dublin and BYD North Dublin.

These supercars are distinctly different from each other, and from anything currently in the Irish market:

The YANGWANG U8 is a groundbreaking petrol-electric hybrid SUV designed for all-terrain performance. It embodies a perfect blend of luxury and rugged capability, featuring advanced technology and innovative design. With a massive 1,200 bhp and acceleration of 0-100km/h in 3.6s, combined with a 1000km-plus range, the U8 exemplifies BYD’s capabilities.

The YANGWANG U9 is a high-performance pure-electric supercar that exemplifies cutting-edge automotive technology and design. Engineered to deliver exceptional speed and agility, the U9 combines sleek, aerodynamic aesthetics with state-of-the-art electric propulsion. It offers a luxurious driving experience, complete with premium materials and advanced features, setting a new standard for electric supercars. Fitted with an 80kWh BYD Blade Battery, the U9 delivers the equivalent of 1,300 bhp and can achieve 0-100km/h in 2.36 seconds.

Whether we get these luxury EV's on Irish roads remains to be seen, but we'll update with more details when we have them.
