Irish drivers are about to get an exciting look at the next wave of electrified cars at the Nevo Electric Vehicle Show, in partnership with Bank of Ireland at Dublin’s RDS Simmonscourt. Nissan Micra

Nissan’s reborn Micra swaps petrol frugality for silent, city-friendly electric power. Designed to be small on the outside and big on usefulness, it targets easy parking, low running costs and simple home charging. Expect clean styling, a cleverly packaged cabin with thoughtful storage, and the latest Nissan infotainment with phone integration. The Micra aims to give first-time EV buyers a stress-free step into electric life without sacrificing everyday practicality or that “just jump in and go” feel.

Nissan Leaf

We’ve driven the all-new Leaf and it feels like a return to form: solidly built, calm to cruise and easy to live with. The design shifts towards a sleek crossover vibe, while the cabin brings crisp screens and user-friendly menus. Two battery choices cater for mixed Irish driving, with rapid DC charging for quick top-ups. Driver-assist and Google built-in keep long trips simple. Overall, it’s a quieter, smarter Leaf that goes further and drives much better than its predecessor.

BMW iX3

BMW’s electric iX3 brings familiar premium comfort with whisper-quiet progress. Expect classic BMW road manners, surefooted in bends, relaxed on motorways paired with a practical, family-friendly interior. When it comes to efficiency and performance you'll get a range of up to 805km, a fast charge of 372km in just 10 minutes, and a rapid 0-100 km/h time of 4.9 seconds. It comes with a large boot, quality materials and refined infotainment make daily life easy. As a stepping stone into BMW’s new electric range, the iX3 focuses on usable range, straightforward charging, and that confident, polished feel owners value for commuting and weekend escapes alike.

Kia EV5

Kia’s EV5 is a square-shouldered, mid-size electric SUV with a smart, minimalist cabin and family-first versatility. Flat floors and sliding storage make it easy to reconfigure for kids, sports gear or a DIY run. Expect competitive range, swift DC charging and the latest driver-assist tech for hassle-free trips. Kia’s straightforward infotainment and connected services round things off. If you liked the recently launched EV4’s styling but want a boxier, roomier shape, the EV5 should hit the sweet spot!

BYD Shark (Plug-in Hybrid)

The BYD Shark adds something different: a plug-in hybrid pickup that can run electric around town yet tackle longer hauls without charging anxiety.
