Making the jump to an electric vehicle can feel like a big step for many, but Ford wants to make it a whole lot easier. With their new Ford Power Promise, the brand is offering a suite of benefits to make EV ownership more accessible, affordable, and hassle-free for Irish drivers considering the switch.

Launched just in time for the 252 registration period, the initiative aims to directly address some of the biggest hesitations holding people back from going electric, like charging concerns, battery life, and service costs.

Lisa Brankin, Ford UK Chair and Managing Director of Ford of Britain and Ireland said: “Switching into an electric vehicle for the first time can be a daunting prospect for some drivers, so Ford has decided to simplify and de-stress the entire ownership experience by launching a one-of-a-kind promise to new electric car buyers.

What’s holding drivers back?

A recent Ford survey of 5,000 European drivers revealed some of the key concerns around EV ownership:

That’s exactly the kind of uncertainty Ford hopes to tackle with this new offering.

What is the Ford Power Promise?

Whether you’re eyeing the highly anticipated Puma Gen-E, the all-electric Explorer, the new Ford Capri or the Mustang Mach-E, Ford is throwing in serious added value across the board. Here’s what’s included:

  • Free home EV charger with standard installation from ChargeGuru (at a cost of €10).
  • Eight-year/160,000km high voltage component and battery warranty.
  • Free-of-charge five-year service plan to ensure low maintenance costs.
  • Free-of-charge five-year towing assistance.
  • Access to more than 750 charging stations with 2,127 public charging points via Ford’s BlueOval Charge Network.
  • FordPass app integration, so you can charge without juggling multiple apps.

All of this is designed to give customers the confidence that switching to electric doesn’t have to come with complications or extra cost.

The charging numbers

Charging at home during the EV Smart Drive window (2am–6am) could cost as little as €2.26 for 30kWh, enough for many daily commutes. A full overnight charge for a new Puma Gen-E costs around €12.26, compared to €58–€70 at the petrol pump. That’s a serious long-term saving.

And with home charger installation worth €1,299 included in the Power Promise (provided the SEAI Home Charger Grant is applied for), it’s one less upfront expense to worry about.

How it works

Ford buyers can redeem the Power Promise by simply speaking with their local dealership. Once registered, ChargeGuru, Ford’s installation partner, will handle everything from presenting charger options to booking a professional install within 2–4 weeks.

Ford’s Power Promise is a smart move, one that tackles real concerns, removes barriers, and gives drivers a smoother path into electric driving. Whether you’re a first-time EV buyer or just looking to simplify your next car purchase, it’s an offer worth checking out. To learn more simply click here.
