Electric vehicle fans in Ireland are soon to get even more choice on the market. Gowan Auto has just been appointed as the official national importer for Leapmotor, one of China’s fastest-growing EV brands, marking the company's Irish debut this September.

If you haven’t heard of Leapmotor yet, you soon will. Backed by global powerhouse Stellantis, Leapmotor is already making waves in China for its blend of value, technology, and smart design. And now, Irish drivers are set to benefit from that same mix of quality and affordability, without compromise.

Gowan Auto gears up for launch

The Leapmotor operation will be based at Gowan Auto’s state-of-the-art distribution centre in Citywest, Dublin, which opened in 2023. From here, Gowan will manage Leapmotor’s rollout alongside its existing Stellantis portfolio, including big-name brands like Alfa Romeo, Opel, Peugeot, Citroen, Fiat, DS Automobiles, Honda and Jeep.

What cars are coming?

Two models will launch this September, both aiming to offer impressive value for money.

Leapmotor C10: A spacious D-segment SUV designed for families and long-haul comfort. With a 69.9 kWh battery, it offers up to 500km of range (WLTP), or 900+km with the upcoming plug-in hybrid range extender. Expect premium touches like ventilated seats, 20-inch alloys, surround-view cameras, and a 12-speaker premium Hi-Fi system, all included.

Leapmotor T03: A compact B-segment hatchback priced to compete with smaller city cars. It packs a 37.3 kWh battery, a WLTP range of 265km, and comes loaded with features: panoramic sunroof, adaptive cruise control, and a 10.1-inch infotainment system all come as standard.

Leapmotor isn’t stopping there. A C-SUV model (the Leapmotor B10) will join the line-up later this year, and six more models are planned by 2028.

Leapmotor vehicles will be available through Gowan Auto’s well-established network of retail partners, meaning customers can expect reliable service and aftersales support from day one. Giving that peace of mind for those making the switch to electric for the first time.
