Ireland’s electric vehicle market is accelerating faster than ever, and with demand growing, dealerships across the country are expanding their electric offerings to meet it. From brand-new EV showrooms to major dealer network appointments, the last two months have seen a wave of exciting developments for Irish drivers. Here’s a roundup of the latest retailers opening their doors and bringing even more choice to Ireland’s EV buyers.

XPENG Expands Into Cork and North Dublin

XPENG continues its rapid growth in Ireland with two major dealership additions. Newmarket Motors in Cork has become the first XPENG retailer outside Dublin, marking a significant milestone for the long-established, family-run dealership. This follows the brand’s expansion with MSL Motor Group, who have now opened XPENG North Dublin at their state-of-the-art Navan Road showroom.

These two new sites join XPENG South Dublin and XPENG West Dublin, bringing the brand’s national footprint to four dealerships, with more appointments already in negotiation as XPENG strengthens its position in Ireland’s accelerating EV market.

Finlay Motor Group Joins the BYD Network in Naas

Finlay Motor Group, one of Kildare’s best-known dealerships, has officially joined BYD’s growing Irish network. Now trading as BYD Kildare, the dealership will operate from the M7 Motor Park in Naas, strategically filling a regional gap where BYD previously had no retail presence.

BYD Ireland’s National Sales Manager, Vicky Reilly, highlighted the importance of the appointment, noting that the addition aligns with the brand’s “ambitious growth plans” and strengthens access for customers across the region. BYD’s nationwide network now sits at 12 retailers, with more expected soon.

MG Expands with Rochford Motors Mayo & Fitzpatrick's Kildare

MG Motor Ireland continues to broaden its national footprint with two key dealer appointments. In the West, Rochford Motors in Ballyhaunis, Co. Mayo has joined the MG network, bringing the brand’s presence to Mayo, Roscommon, Leitrim, and Sligo. The long-established, family-run dealership, now led by Dealer Principal Liam Rochford, offers full sales, servicing, and customer support, ensuring strong representation for MG across the region.

MG has also expanded into Kildare with the addition of Fitzpatrick’s MG Motor Centre, which will initially operate from a temporary premises at Junction 13 off the M7, right beside the iconic Kildare Village.

With these two new locations, MG continues to strengthen its reach nationwide, offering affordable, well-equipped electric and hybrid models backed by a 7-year warranty to even more Irish drivers.

Leapmotor Arrives in Kildare and Dublin with Bright Motor Group & Fitzpatricks

Leapmotor, one of Ireland’s newest EV brands, continues its rollout with the appointment of Bright Motor Group and Fitzpatricks Garage as its latest retail partners.

Bright Motor Group will represent Leapmotor at two locations, Navan Road and Airside, cementing the brand’s presence in Dublin. Meanwhile, Fitzpatricks Garage in Naas will introduce Leapmotor to Kildare, offering local customers access to the brand’s premium-yet-affordable electric models.

These appointments mark Leapmotor’s fifth and sixth retail sites since entering the Irish market, signalling strong early momentum for the brand.

More EV Dealers, More Choice, and a Rapidly Growing Market

From Cork to Dublin, Mayo to Kildare, Ireland’s EV dealer network is expanding quickly, bringing new brands, more regional access, and stronger support for drivers making the switch to electric. With XPENG, BYD, MG, and Leapmotor all increasing their footprint, Irish motorists now have more options than ever before.

As EV adoption accelerates and new dealerships continue to open, Ireland’s electric future is looking increasingly accessible, convenient, and exciting for drivers nationwide.
