Video Review
This year marks Skoda's 130th anniversary, and the celebrations bring an exciting update to the all-electric Enyaq. With a fresh new look inspired by the brand’s latest ‘Modern Solid’ design philosophy, the Enyaq adopts features seen on the recently launched Skoda Elroq. The facelift is not just cosmetic but also functional, enhancing both style and performance.
Range and Charging
The updated Enyaq isn’t just a visual upgrade—Skoda has improved the aerodynamics of the car, boosting its efficiency and increasing its range. In fact, the Enyaq Coupe now boasts the best aerodynamics in Skoda's lineup.
Depending on the market, two battery sizes are available: 58kWh and 77kWh. However, in Ireland, only the larger 77kWh battery is currently offered. The Enyaq 60, powered by a 204hp rear-mounted motor, achieves up to 432km of range, while the larger Enyaq 85 offers 579km in SUV form and an impressive 587km in the more streamlined Coupe version. For those seeking extra traction, the four-wheel-drive 85x version provides 535km of range in SUV form and 538km for the Coupe.
When it comes to charging, the Enyaq doesn’t disappoint. The smaller 58kWh battery can charge at speeds of up to 165kW on DC power, while the larger 77kWh battery maxes out at 175kW. This allows for fast-charging from 10% to 80% in as little as 24-28 minutes. All models also come equipped with 11kW AC charging, ensuring convenience no matter where you plug in.
Design and Interior
The updated Enyaq debuts Skoda’s striking new ‘Tech Deck’ front design. Featuring split LED headlamps connected by segmented LED strips, the grille now gives the illusion of a futuristic light panel. Below, the closed-off panel houses the front camera and adds a modern touch to the vehicle’s bold design. To complete the look, Skoda replaces its traditional winged logo with bold, blacked-out letters, emphasising the car’s contemporary aesthetic.
The back of the car retains its familiar design, but the LED brake lights have been updated with a distinctive C-shaped light signature. Alloy wheels still feature Skoda's traditional logo, providing a subtle nod to the brand's heritage.
Inside, the cabin largely retains its well-loved layout but benefits from some thoughtful updates. A five-inch digital driver display sits alongside a 13-inch infotainment screen, now equipped with upgraded software. Drivers can also opt for an augmented reality head-up display, projecting useful information directly onto the windshield.
In classic Skoda fashion, the Enyaq is packed with ‘Simply Clever’ features. These include an ice scraper integrated into the fuel flap, a tyre tread depth gauge in the boot, and even an umbrella tucked into the driver’s door. New additions include a QR code in the boot that offers interactive video guides on features like the parcel shelf or net systems.
Practicality remains a strong suit, with a boot capacity of 585 litres for the SUV and 570 litres for the Coupe. All models now come with standard features such as keyless approach unlocking, a heated steering wheel, heated front seats, and three-zone climate control.
Cost Considerations
While Irish pricing for the updated Skoda Enyaq hasn’t been officially announced, orders open on January 9th in key European markets with prices starting at approximately €44,000 for entry-level models. This price point places the Enyaq in a competitive position among electric SUVs, offering a mix of premium features, impressive range, and Skoda's renowned practicality.
Buyers in Ireland can also take advantage of government incentives, such as the SEAI grant of up to €3,500 for private buyers, further reducing the initial cost
Conclusion
With its refreshed design, enhanced range, and thoughtful features, the updated Skoda Enyaq continues to lead the charge in the electric SUV market. We look forward to getting behind the wheel soon to deliver a full review and our final verdict.
