Hyundai 2026 IONIQ 6 - Review

Hyundai has updated its streamlined electric saloon for 2026, and the result is an even stronger case for drivers prioritising efficiency, range and long-distance comfort. Shown here in N Line specification, the latest IONIQ 6 combines sharper styling with an upgraded 84kWh battery pack, while retaining the aerodynamic design that has helped make it one of the most efficient EVs on sale today.

Built to go further

Efficiency remains the IONIQ 6's calling card. Thanks to its revised battery technology, the rear-wheel-drive model delivers a claimed range of up to 614km. Hyundai’s 800V electrical architecture also allows DC charging speeds of up to 253kW, enabling a 10–80% charge in as little as 18 minutes under the right conditions. A larger 45-litre front trunk on rear-wheel-drive models adds extra practicality, while Vehicle-to-Load functionality remains available for powering external devices.

A premium experience behind the wheel

Inside, the IONIQ 6 continues to focus on comfort and technology. The updated cabin introduces a darker, more premium interior aesthetic, while twin digital displays, revised infotainment controls and Hyundai’s latest driver assistance systems help modernise the experience. Rear passenger space remains generous thanks to the long wheelbase, and the addition of an interior V2L socket further enhances everyday usability.

Worth considering?

The IONIQ 6 continues to carve out its own niche in the EV market. With impressive range, ultra-fast charging capability and a starting price from €41,435 in Ireland, it offers a compelling blend of efficiency, technology and value. For drivers covering longer distances on a regular basis, the IONIQ 6 remains one of the most capable electric cars currently available.
