KGM, formerly known as SsangYong, is entering the electric utility market with the new Musso EV, an all-electric crew cab pickup designed to combine practicality, technology and everyday usability. Powered by an 80.6kWh BYD Blade Battery, the Musso EV delivers a range of up to 419km.
Built for work and everyday use
The Musso EV has been designed to balance worksite practicality with day-to-day comfort. It offers towing capability of up to 1.5 tonnes alongside a payload capacity of up to 635kg depending on specification. Vehicle-to-Load functionality also features, allowing external devices and equipment to draw power directly from the vehicle itself, while DC fast charging supports a 10–80% charge in approximately 36 minutes.
A much more modern cabin than expected
Inside, the Musso EV feels considerably more technology-focused than previous KGM models. Dual 12.3-inch digital displays, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, heated and ventilated front seats and a cleaner dashboard layout help modernise the experience, while the crew cab design provides strong rear passenger space and everyday practicality.
Worth considering?
The Musso EV feels like a genuinely interesting alternative in a segment still heavily dominated by diesel. With solid range figures, practical towing capability and a large battery setup, KGM looks to be targeting both commercial buyers and lifestyle users wanting something a little different from the traditional pickup formula.
