Video Review
XPENG has been making noise in the EV world for a while now, but the L03 feels like a proper statement of intent. As the brand's first global model, it arrives with serious credentials, and a design pedigree that immediately sets it apart from the crowd.
Design: Ferrari roots, EV future
The L03 was developed under the direction of JuanMa López, formerly Ferrari's Chief Exterior Designer, and it shows. Built around XPENG's "Vital Flow" philosophy, this is a wide-body coupe-SUV with a fastback silhouette, frameless doors, and a drag coefficient of just 0.228, one of the best in class, adding up to 47.5km of additional range over earlier design iterations.
Performance and range
The numbers are hard to argue with. The L03 delivers up to 520km of range and charges from 10–80% in around 20 minutes. The dual-motor AWD variant adds blowout stability control up to 180km/h, giving it a reassuring dynamic edge beyond the headline figures.
Interior: premium where it counts
Step inside and the L03 continues to impress. The cabin features a 15.6-inch display, a W-HUD, 256-colour ambient lighting with motion effects, and full-scenario voice control. Front seats come with ventilation, heating, four-way lumbar support, and a 14-point full-body massage, the kind of feature you'd expect to pay considerably more for. Rear passengers get electrically adjustable seats with a 40/20/40 split-fold bench that handles everything from golf bags to ski boards.
Practicality: more space than you'd expect
With 37 storage locations, a 539-litre rear cargo hold, and a 102-litre front trunk, the L03 is genuinely practical for day-to-day life. A 10-litre pull-out rear drawer keeps smaller items tidy, and a maximum towing capacity of 1,500kg means it can handle more than just the school run.
First impressions
The L03 is a confident, well-rounded debut on the global stage from XPENG. The design alone will turn heads, but it's the combination of real-world range, rapid charging, and a genuinely premium interior that makes the strongest case.
